Early childhood programs (Playgroup – ECD III)

At Bodhi Briksha School, our Early Years Programme is carefully designed to support the holistic development of young learners during their most important formative years. Following internationally recognized early childhood practices and aligned with the philosophy of Cambridge International Education, our program nurtures curiosity, creativity, confidence, and a lifelong love for learning.

Inspired by the Montessori philosophy of education, we believe that children learn best through exploration, independence, and meaningful hands-on experiences. Our classrooms provide a prepared environment where young learners are encouraged to discover, make choices, and develop essential life skills at their own pace. Through carefully guided activities, sensory learning materials, and play-based exploration, children build strong foundations in cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.

By blending Montessori-inspired learning approaches with a structured early childhood curriculum, Bodhi Briksha creates a nurturing environment where every child feels valued, supported, and inspired to grow with confidence.

Playgroup (2 – 2.5 years)

Our nurturing Playgroup welcomes little ones into a secure, loving space that feels like a second home. Simple, joyful themes introduce children to the world around them through daily routines, guided play, and group interactions. They practice sharing, cooperation, and kindness while exploring early alphabet awareness in both English and Nepali, plus basic numeracy (counting, sorting, colors, shapes, and patterns) woven into fun, theme-related songs, stories, and sensory play.

ECD I (2.5 – 3.5 years)

Children dive deeper into foundational language and numeracy through rich, thematic experiences. Each theme sparks sensory-rich adventures—building pre-reading and pre-writing skills (mark-making, storytelling, songs, rhymes) alongside early math concepts. Hands-on activities, creative play, role-play, and interactive group time ignite imagination, curiosity, and a natural love for discovery as children connect ideas across subjects.

ECD II (3.5 – 4.5 years)

Building on earlier foundations, this stage strengthens reading readiness, emergent writing, and mathematical thinking within captivating themes. Children engage in experiential learning—storytelling, dramatic role-play, art, music, collaborative projects, and simple investigations—that encourage problem-solving, self-expression, growing independence, and creativity. Themes reinforce key concepts in a supportive, stimulating classroom where learning feels relevant and interconnected.

ECD III (4.5 – 5.5 years)

Our culminating early years level deepens literacy and numeracy mastery while cultivating critical thinking, clear communication, and social confidence through more advanced thematic explorations. Children tackle structured yet playful activities—researching topics, creating projects, discussing ideas, and presenting—that prepare them seamlessly for primary school. They emerge as eager, capable learners ready to thrive in Grade 1 and beyond.

Curriculum Overview

Playgroup (2–2.5 years)

ECD I (2.5–3.5 years)

A play-based curriculum introducing early alphabet skills in English and
Nepali, basic numeracy, patterning, sorting, and counting through hands-on
activities.

ECD II (3.5–4.5 years)

Emphasis on pre-reading, pre-writing, and early mathematics using engaging, child-friendly, and experiential learning approaches. 

ECD III (4.5–5.5 years)

Strengthens math and literacy skills while preparing children smoothly for the
transition to elementary education.
